Half Day Island Hopping Tour 12:00pm to 17:30pm

Cruising along the Koh Samui archipelago is surely one of the greatest ways to discover Samui nearby islands with beautiful, white-sand beaches, fringed with coconut palms and lush vegetation stretching over limestone hills. In half day on sailing we recommend going to the five Islands, Koh Tan and Koh Mudsum.

We recommend this trip to our guests who prefer to avoid the crowds and like to experience unspoiled islands for great snorkelling and beach time as well as abundance of optional activities. Still a well-kept secret, this island trip will allow you to enjoy an atmosphere of tranquillity and relaxation as you dive 30 years into the past of Koh Samui archipelago.
Koh Taen is a natural paradise located minutes off the south-western coast of Koh Samui`s Taling Nam fishing village. It is a small, tranquil, and unspoiled island, not yet on the radar of Koh Samui tourist map. There is just one small village on Koh Taen, with very limited tourist facilities, such as five humble bungalows and an authentic Thai restaurant. Only about 30 people who earn their main livelihood from fishing populate the island.
Koh Taen is surrounded by coral reefs along the white sandy beaches that snorkelers, divers and sun bathing lovers can enjoy. Koh Taen has unofficially been named “Coral Island” for its abundance of coral and marine life including giant clams, fan corals, sea turtle and wide variety of colourful tropical fish that lives in and around the protected coral reefs. The island invites you to enjoy its picturesque beaches and crystal clear, calm waters where you will be able to snorkel, scuba dive, sunbathe and explore the islands by our conservation club exploration vehicle, foot, mountain bike and kayak.

Koh Tean, Koh Mudsum (Koh Taen´s small sister island) and Koh Lap have 8 snorkelling sites ranging from 2 to 18 meters offering something special for all levels of snorkelers. The sites we will visit are fairly shallow, with healthy fringing or patch coral reefs that attract a variety of reef fish species, turtles, and interesting invertebrates.
Itinerary: Our tour guide will meet your group at your hotel at 9:00am and welcome you to aboard our cars to Samui’s inner river jetty (Aid Vi Sade) in about 25 minute (depending on your hotel location). There we will embark on the Blue Dragon that will take us to the Koh Taen in about 30 minutes.

Your journey will begin just southwest of Koh Samui towards the Five Islands. These islands hold a mysterious and rarely seen phenomenon: the ancestral craft of harvesting bird nests, the principle ingredient of making Chinese bird´s-nest soup. On your voyage, you will see caves; beaches and bamboo dwellings precariously perched on limestone cliffs and pinnacles. Swiftest use their saliva to build a nest on the islands steep rock formation. This hardened nest is named white gold and sale for a lot of money on the Chinese market who make bird soup out of it. It is forbidden to disturbed the birds.

After arriving to one of Koh Mudsum´s or Koh Taen secluded sandy beaches you will have plenty of time hour to relax, sunbathe, swim snorkel at one of the sandy, pristine bays of this amazing islands. You will be able to enjoy the fabulous underwater world guided by our professional PADI snorkeler leader or relax onboard our floating lounge above the reef or just chill on the Blue Dragon’s Jacuzzi or sun deck. Next if you like we will transfer you to Koh Taen´s main beach.

Once at Koh Taen you may take a ride aboard our conservation club Exploration Vehicle to cross the island and visit the mangrove forest where you will also be able take a relaxing stroll along the wooden platform that was built by locals to view the mangrove forests.

On most days we will also be able to see Komodo monitors, the large species of lizard similar to the Komodo dragon at the bay nearby the mangrove forests. At the mangrove forests you will be able to find trees that branch out over the water and grow roots upward, seeds that germinate before they fall from their parent tree, fish that hop or walk about in the mud. These bizarre-sounding creatures are some of the species that make up one of southern Thailand´s most intriguing ecosystems: the mangrove swamps.

Guests who prefer to take it easy will have additional time to explore the amazing Koh Taen Beach, play games, relax, sunbath, take a leisurely tour along the coastline to the local temple and take a first-hand look at wale shark bones that where found more than 50 years ago. Children will be able to play on the beach on our trampoline, beach games such as sand castle, collecting shells, Frisbee, volleyball as well as other games for children and adults of all ages. You will be amazed at the incredible calm on the island.

Next we return to Koh Taen main beach or the Blue Dragon where we will have delicious Thai lunch. After lunch the yacht will take you to a second and optional third islands for more snorkelling and amazing beach time at the island’s pristine calm bays.

On our voyage back to Samui along Samui southwest coast you should be able to enjoy perfect sunset the islands are famous for. Once we arrive at the jetty our cars will transfer you back to your hotel.
